Elliot turns 8

Happy birthday to this sweet, loving, silly, handsome 8 year old! 

Am I really old enough to have an 8 year old? It's wild!

He got to have a fun bday party at Triple Play with a bunch of his buddies. He was baptized on June 6th by his dad J.R.  Both sets of grandparents got to be there which was so awesome! 

The week before his baptism we were in Utah for the birth of Haddie Jane (Sharli's new baby) and decided to use the Logan temple as background for his baptism pics. 

This boy is one super special kid! He loves his brothers and protects them and cares for them just like the coolest older brother should. He is so smart and great at remembering things. He picks up on the stories we read in the scriptures and is so good at answering questions during FHE. He has a sweet testimony of the church and really tries his best to do what right. He is so great at showing love. He never shy's away from hugs and kisses....which I hope never changes. He is fast, strong and a killer athlete at his gymnastics and par core classes. He's doing great at piano lessons and really enjoys making music. He's definitely a natural in the music department. He has lots of friends and is a really good student at school. Its fun having his birthday right at the end of the school year cause it feels like we are celebrating a job well done during the year and its a fun way to kick off the summer. He has a fun sense of humor and a real talent for being fun, outgoing, and just plain silly :)

We are so proud of him and all the great choices he is making....especially the choice to be baptized. He will be an amazing member of the church as he continues to prepare for his mission and beyond!

Way to go Elliot!! You have a bright, successful future ahead of you!

8th Birthday Party at Triple Play

What a crew of crazy 8year old boys. 8 year old boys are so weird...and lots of fun!

Elliot loves being the center of attention so  birthday party at Triple Play was right up his alley. He was great to let his little brothers tag a long as well. What a fun day!

 The ropes course was a hit! It was just added to triple play so it was the thing they'd all been waiting to try out. 

 

 

Bye Bye Baby Teeth

Big day in the Haynie home! Elliot has been working on this tooth for a couple weeks now. His adult tooth was already pushing through. He was so brave and pulled it out with floss all by himself. 

Such a fun kid! Such a fun age!!

Congrats Elliot! We love you!!

Star of the Week 2

During his "Star of the Week" Elliot got to bring something in each day to tell the class about. Pictures of his family, favorite toys and books etc. This day he was showing the class his favorite toy...Skylanders! He hid them in his shirt till he could get to the special rocking chair that only the "Star of the Week" get to sit in. Then he described why he liked them, what they did, where he got them etc.

He LOVED being the "Star of the Week" He is not shy at all! He felt so special every day. On Thursday night he went to sleep with a sigh and said, "well, tomorrow's my last day as star of the week. It's been a good week."

He may only be a star for one week at school but he is a star at home all the time!! Love you Elliot. You're so special and fun!

Star of the Week

Elliot's Week With Mickey!

I showed Mickey to my brothers. We wanted to jump on the trampoline, but it was too too cold! Instead we ate ice cream and worked on my homework. I showed Mrs. Schoch’s Mickey to my other Mickey. They were good friends all week. We put on Madagascar 3 and me and both Mickey’s danced. We had so much fun!!!

My neighbor Presley came over and we ate more ice cream and popcorn and we pretended we were at a movie theater. We had popcorn and hot chocolate.

We did all sorts of fun things like playing on the computer on PBSKIDS.org and reading before bed! We also got to play my favorite Wii game, Skylanders and painting Mickey Mouse. Mickey is a great friend!

Finally it was time for Mickey to go back to Mrs. Schoch. I will still have fun with my other Mickey but we will miss Mrs. Schoch’s Mickey too.

Snow Day

Are we sick of the snow yet?? When it's this beautiful and thick it's hard to say yes. I couldn't resist bribing Elliot out for a few shots of the huge snow flakes.
