Another Sweet Farm

This time we went Pumpkin Picking! The pumpkins were a bit scarce (sp?) but Elliot enjoyed the sandbox full of corn and the mini straw maze with slides.
I've said it once, I'll say it again....there is SO MUCH to do in Columbus. Seriously, we never get bored!

Happy Fall SBpage

Halloween Bash

You haven't been to a halloween party until you've been to a party at Sarahs moms house!!
WOW, I had no idea people were so into halloween. The costumes were awesome, the set was detailed and the script was so funny! J.R. and I went "all out" with our costumes because we knew this wouldn't be your average halloween party, but little did we know we would feel under-dressed compared to the rest of the party goers! (this is just a taste of the fun...more pics to come)
The theme was Frankenstein's wedding. They had a fake ceremony with lines, actors and even audience participation. Sarah's mom was the bride of Frank and she was great! They even lined us up for pics after the ceremony and cut the cake and everything! It was totally entertaining!

Thanks Sarah for the invite. You have a great family!

(once again, not sure why the pics have white space. I guess my computer just isn't used to such nice cameras?)

More California photos. (Thanks to Erin's camera)

Erin - Why do some of these pics have so much white space? (I'm no too keen on my photo editing skills)

The fastest Disneyland Trip Ever

Hangin' at the Disney trick or treat party.
Can you tell Elliot has been sucking on his binky? It made his mustache and beard look funny.

(I hate that it posts my pics out of order, but I have no patience to fix it so sorry if it bugs anyone else, but at least I got them on my blog at all.... )

What a wild weekend. Just a few weeks ago flight prices dropped pretty low and we jumped on the "Davis family trip to Disneyland" bandwagon. We flew in on Thursday morning went to Disneyland Thursday and Friday. Went to the Friday night Trick or Treat thing (which was awesome). Then hit up Seaworld on Saturday and flew back to Ohio Sunday morning. Whew....is anyone else exhausted?

The best part was we surprised everyone (except Erin & T.J.) No one knew we were coming and Erin just showed up in the middle of the group holding Elliot saying he was lost. It took a minute, but they realized quickly it was Elliot and started looking for J.R and I. FUNNY! Classic J.R. - He told me the only way we could go is if I promised to make it a surprise. I'm not big on surprises, but it got us to Disneyland so I'll put up with it.

Elliot loved Disneyland. He loved the characters and parades, had fun on the rides, and mostly loved just being with his cousins. Seaworld was a major hit too. He was totally captivated by the animal shows and loved looking at the fish through the glass. The only down fall was the major soaking we got during the Dolphin show. I felt like an abusive parent. We seriously got drilled and Elliot hated it. (thanks alot Erin for saving the seats right in the "soak zone" - JK. I would have felt wierd if we left seaworld without a bit of a wet booty :)

The plane flight to CA was exhausting. He was wild, and 5 hours on a tightly packed plane was less then desirable to a busy 16 mo old. He did not sleep on either flight till the last 5 minutes of the plane decending into California. Then we had to wake him just to get on a bus for 45 min trying to get to our hotel. (no he didn't sleep on the bus either) J.R. and I were beat. We put him down for a long nap before we even wanted to attempted the crazy disneyland scene. I'm pretty sure Elliot was exhausted and over stimulated for 3 straight days - (He has napped for about 6 hours each day since we got home) He had no choice but to pass out on the flights home. It was much more peaceful coming home. J.R. and I even got to watch a movie on one of the flights. Sweet!

I think this Dolphin was trying to eat him
Chilling at the Shamu show

Elliot and his Mickey sucker waiting in yet another LONG line.

(Notice his little monkey backpack. It was great. He could walk by himself and I could keep him within reach)

Riding the rides. Not sure how he felt about this one.

He mostly liked the ones with cool stuff to see. ie: pirates, buzz lightyear, tiki room etc...

Playing in Goofy's house

The flight to California. This is early on the first flight. I think Elliot can sense what is coming....Long restless hours.
The last 5 minutes...everyone around us thought it was pretty funny too.
Hooray, halloween in Mickeytown!

Waiting on a parade.

This was a fun spot. A little play ground in Goofy's back yard.

Disney & Seaworld video clips

Elliot loved the Playhouse Disney show. It has all his favorite morning Disney shows that we watch all the time. He dances to them in the morning so I wasn't surprised when he busted a move here. So cute!

This is the cutest ever. At any random moment Elliot would stop what he was doing and give Tanner a long hug. Good thing Tanner was okay with it because it happened several times a day. I guess he just needed a little love from his cousin he never gets to see.

This is the first show we saw at Seaworld. Look how cute Elliot is as he watches. He loves it! Even though he may not remember this trip, I will, and the memories are PRICELESS!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho!

Elliot refused to let me take his picture so this is the best I could get. Luckily Halloween is a bit away so we'll have more chances to capture his cuteness. We're trying to get him to say Yo Ho, but no success yet. He seems to have a mind of his own...he won't do much on command, but I catch him doing it by himself later. I wonder where he gets that stubborn side of him???...Hmm...

16 Month update:

He is eating much better. Still hates noodles and bread, but will eat veggies if covered in something tastey. Chicken nuggets are still his fav!

He kicks his soccer ball around every once and a while and is trying to learn to catch. I'm not an extremely patient teacher so our learning sessions are short lived. I told J.R. it's his job anyway :) Hopefully santa brings him a mini basketball hoop for Christmas!

He babbles like crazy, but still no official words. He does say "Uh-oh" when something falls or if I say it.

He climbs on EVERYTHING and then thinks it's fun to jump off. Fortunatly I'm there to save the day, but one of these times he's not going to be so lucky and we're going to have a broken bone on our hands. I have to watch him like a hawk.

He sings in the back seat of the car. Of course not the words and not nessesarily the notes, but still sings along anyway. So cute!

He climbs up to the "big slide" and goes down all by himself.

He points at EVERY airplane he hears or sees and sometimes mistakes the trains for airplanes and points to the sky looking everywhere. Maybe he'll be a pilot someday?

He's totally comfortable with guys. He'd go to any random guy before a girl anyday. He's not afraid of strangers either.....I know, not good. But it is nice that he's okay going to our friends and even better when I have to leave him to go to work. We'll have to teach "stranger danger" early on.

He loves reading, raisins and rocks and most of all his MOMMY!!!

Go Columbus Crew!

Our friends: Mike and Elizabeth Hess
(I think Beth looks like Bergen, she acts a lot like her too)

Last night we got to go to a Columbus Crew game. It was awesome! Especially because we got to see David Beckham play. Ooohhh, he's so dreamy :) You can see him pretty well in this video.

We had a great time and wish we would have thought to go to more games before now.

More apples please

Here's a little flick from our adventures in the apple orchard.

Pick, Pick, Picking!!!

Today we woke up and headed out to the farm to pick us some crunchy apples. Along with all the apples we could eat and a huge bag of apples to take home, we took a tractor ride around the farm. We had such a good time. Elliot loved the apples. He always had one in his mouth. He was covered in apple juice by the time we were headed home. I can't believe just last year we were out there carrying our little man in his bjorn and now he was running around like he owned the place. Time flies when you're having fun! It was great hangin with the Johnsons, I feel like we never get to see those guys. They are such great friends and always up for a good time!
