Tennessee Trip!

Always a great weekend when we get to make a trip to visit Grandma & Grandpa Hutchinson in Tennessee. J.R. got the weekend off and Oma was there visiting = Perfect timing! We headed out Friday night after J.R. got off work and got there around 1am. We had a few travel delays (Miles throw up and closed freeways) Besides the no naps, late nights and long car rides the trip was a success!!
We miss Gma & Gpa Hutch so much. They are the sweetest southern couple with hearts of gold! I can see why J.R. talks so highly of his grandpa! They are so easy going and fun. We had a great time. I think I watched more baseball and golf on TV then I ever have my whole life. It was awesome! You know J.R. was in heaven!
Thanks for the fun visit! We'll be back sooner then later!

Triathlon Training

J.R. and I are very excited to have registered for our first Sprint Triathlon! I've been wanting to do a Triathlon since I was in High School. 11 years later...I'm doing it. Unfortunately my knees are limiting me and I will have to speed walk the run portion of the race, but I don't care. I'm checking it off my bucket list now or never!
This particular Saturday morning J.R. woke up early and went on a bike ride /  run with our awesome neighbor Jared. Because I don't wake up early for anything...especially exercise...my workout came later and we decided to make it a family outing. We drove to the high school and I rode my 10 miles around the track. J.R. was awesome to keep the kids entertained. Luckily it wasn't too hot of a day and the kids had fun running free outside and Elliot had fun riding around the track with me part of the way.
As soon as we got home we took off for Elliot's Tball game.
What a fun, active day!!

A very typical scowl from Jaxon. This kid is full of faces. This is just one of the many. Cracks me up!

Jaxon loves playing with balls. Throwing, kicking, etc.  Miles on the other hand would rather buckle things or figure out how to snap something together...he's much more intricate in his play.

Look at those rosey cheeks. This boy is such a sweaty kid. He just has to look outside and he's soaked from head to toe.

Elliot really wanted to take a picture at the top of the bleachers. He was so patient the whole time waiting for me to finish first.

Kindergarten Shots!

The dreaded day arrived. Elliot got his kindergarten shoots.
He was a champ and of course he got to choose where we got ice cream
I can't believe he's old enough for Kindergarten. My heart is breaking!

Holiday World

Welcome to Santa Claus, Indiana. Crazy, I know. But, in this fun little town is a awesome theme park called Holiday World. We have been trying to get there since we moved to Indiana and finally made it happen. We were so happy to meet up with the Hansen family for our day of fun! It was great catching up with them and we had an awesome time at Holiday World. Elliot has been asking when we get to go back since we got in the car to go home.

Good Morning!
The 3 hour drive wasn't too bad especially cause he slept the whole way.

First ride of the day...you should have seen the effort he went to to make sure he got a green boat.
(he's obsessed with green right now)

This was in the Halloween part of the park

Log ride...our first and last ride of the day together. We got soaked. :)

This was taken on the scariest ride for a mom. THE SWINGS! We were up so high and he was next to J.R. almost dangling over the little bar that held him back from death. I guess I'm more afraid of heights then I thought. But, looking at his face he was fearless and loving every minute of it.

Greta & Elliot had a BLAST together. Best pals!
They rode this little roller coaster over and over. So fun!

 Us and the Hansen Family.
Elliot can now put a face and a name to the guy we listen to on our ipod. We love Eclipse! Elliot thinks it's so cool that it is Ethan & Greta's dad.

The end of a long, fun day!
(remember how we rode the wet ride last...not the smartest idea)

It took him all of 2 seconds to fall asleep once we got to the car.
(he didn't appreciate the flash in his face)

Thanks to Emily, Mikayla and Debbie for taking shifts with the twins at home.  Next year we'll take them along...maybe. :)

Tourdecancer.org

Meet Rich & Kyle!
Rich just finished an ENT fellowship here in Indy. (J.R. got to work with him for the past 2 months.)  And Kyle is Rich's adventurous brother-in-law. These two are on a journey to ride their bikes across the country in 40 days. Their goal is to raise money for the Oral Cancer Foundation. They started in Washington D.C. on July 2nd and will be getting to the West coast 40 days later. I got to take some pictures of them before they started their trek. The pictures turned out great and even more great is what they are headed out to accomplish!
These are 2 of the nicest guys you will ever meet! We were so excited to get to help them while they were in Indiana yesterday. Elliot can’t stop talking about them. They are his hero’s (among Superman and Obi Wahn). They slept in his room and left him a note on the bed in the morning. Totally made his day!!
The amount of miles they are putting in on their bikes, the amount of food and water they have to consume to keep up the energy, the amount sleep their bodies need to recover is AMAZING! What a cool cool thing they are doing! My dad would be thinking this is awesome! I bet he would have wanted to do something like that.
If you would like to follow them on their trek you can visit their blog here…WWW.TOURDECANCER.ORG
You can also help them raise money by donating here…DONATE
Way to go Rich & Kyle! We’re cheering you on and praying for your safety!!
