February 29

What a great day Feb. 29 turned out to be. If this is how ever leap day is, I sure wish it came around more often then every 4 years. (remember how we're usually shoveling snow in February?)
It was SOOO warm today. Elliot insisted on pulling out the slip n' slide. Although I think it was still too cold for water games Elliot wouldn't let me down so out it came. I thought for sure he'd go down once, freeze and be done, but I was wrong. He did freeze, but in between runs he'd just wrap up in the sun and "relax" (as he called it) then back down the slide.
Our fun continued as more kids came home from school. We eventually moved over to the Rushtons for basketball and trampoline fun. We stayed outside ALL DAY. We didn't come in till bedtime. It was a great day. We all slept great that night too.

(It looks like there is a weird growth on his belly...it's just a bouncy ball he dropped as the picture took)

bet you can't guess what he's eating??

Jaxon was not into the tramp. He watched from the sidelines.

Even I joined in on some bball. My knees didn't appreciate it.

Funny Elliot Stuff

Preface: Elliot NEVER sits down to draw. I beg and offer and pull out art supplies all the time, but I never get anything more then random scibbles just to make me happy so he can move on to more active things. So this came as a big surprise!

This is what Elliot drew in primary today and this is how he explained it...

"This is a tornado"

"This is me and the twins running away from the tornado super fast so it doesn't get us."

ps: yes, those are hearts on their bellies.

-Technically he just wrote his first short story!!
-He also has detail in his pictures I didn't know he noticed. ie: eyebrows, hearts.
-I may be his mom, but that's a pretty awesome drawing for a 4 year old. (He takes after his uncle Matt for sure!)

I sure love my boy! He cracks me up. He LOVES his baby brothers!

Crazy Superbowl Week!

Kinda fun to live in the city that is hosting the superbowl. The entire week before the game, downtown was hoppin'. We took the kids down the first day it opened. It was neat to take pictures and be part of it, but it was FREEZING that day so the kids hated it, which meant the parents didn't love it either. Oh well, great pics. Fun atmosphere. Cool experience.

We did go back the Friday before the game to "party" that night, but the crowds were absolutely insane so we didn't last long (although because of the crowds we were stuck there longer then desired.) I really wanted to do the zip line. It looked SO fun and only cost $10, but the line for tickets was ridiculous.

Go Indianapolis! Way to use those tax dollars for cool stuff. :)

 This one's for you Oma.

We stopped to get warm and sure enough there was TREATS! Elliot stuffs his coat pockets with quarters just for moments like this.

A decked out Colts fan. Someone forgot to tell him they were less then awesome this year.
